NORTH ADAMS -- George R. Ambler, 69, Adams Township farmer for 54 years, died this morning at 1 at his home on Dewey Road following an illness of two years. Death was caused by coronary thrombosis.

He was born at Brooklyn Nov. 19, 1884, a son of Lyman and Adaline Culver Ambler and attended the Brooklyn and North Adams schools.

He was a member of Adams Grange No. 286 and the Hillsdale County Pomona Grange.

On May 3, 1905, he married Minnie Gregory who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Earl Binkley of Hillsdale, Rte. 1 and Mrs. Edwared DeLamater of Jerome, a sister, Mrs. Margaret Denhard of Hillsdale and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 3 at the Ned M. Towns Funeral Home in North Adams where friends may call at any time. The Rev. Fred Ambler of Brooklyn will officiate and burial will be in the North Adams Cemetery.
