Dorothy K. Camerer, 88, formerly of Carrollton, died Tuesday evening, Oct. 7, 2003, at White Hall Multicare Center in White Hall.
She was born Dec. 28, 1914 in Carrollton, the daughter of Norman Lee and Mary Hoff Hennel. She married Gene Camerer Feb. 16, 1937, in Jerseyville, and he preceded her in death Dec. 4, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by one daughter, Shirley (husband, Jack) Nolan of Carrollton; three grandchildren, Ed Nolan, Richard Nolan (Janie Thompson), all of Eldred and Carol (husband, Greg) Olmsead of Carrollton; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one sister, Nona (husband, Warren) Ford of Greenfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Camerer was well known for her cooking skills. She worked in restaurants for many years where she baked pies daily. She stayed in people's homes and assisted their care in later years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Camerer, 88, of Carrollton were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton with the Rev. Jon Lobos officiating. Organist Diane Wolfley accompanied Jackie Cooper who sang "Because He Lives."
Casketbearers were Kyle Nolan, Luke Nolan, Derek Nolan, Greg Olmstead, Justin Olmstead, and Denny Ford. Interment was at Eldred Memorial Gardens.
