"Brit" Brannan Jr.
George W. "Brit" Brannan Jr., 57, of Jerseyville, a native of Greene County, died Monday, Feb. 22, 1988, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 18, 1930, in Eldred, son of George W. "Brit" and Dorothy Dickinson Brannan Sr. His mother survives in Carrollton.
He married Ethel Pearl Adcock July 6, 1981. She survives with two daughters, Mrs. Dale (Cynthia) Shireman of Winchester and Mrs. Jack (Jean Kennedy) of White Hall; two stepsons, Bob Adcock of Woodson and Paul Adcock of Wisconsin; five grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; one great stepgrandchild; and two sisters, Mrs. Connie Segabiano and Darlene Virlney, both of Alton.
Mr. Brannan served during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Jerseyville.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, 1988 at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton.
Rev. Paul Elliott officiated. Organist was Lela Thien. Lyndell Ornellas sang "In The Garden Of Prayer".
Burial was in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Eldred.
