Funeral for Eugene E. Alford, a retired pharmacist, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Wilhelm Funeral Home, with private vault entombment in Portland Memorial Mausoleum.
Mr. Alford, who lived at 6816 SE 32nd Ave., was born June 4, 1899, in Wallowa. He moved to Portland in 1939.
He owned Westmoreland Drugs from 1939 until retiring in 1965. He died Saturday at the age of 74.
A World War I Veteran, Mr. Alford was a member of the American Legion. He also was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Order of Eastern Star, Westmoreland Community Club, 40 Et 8 Club, and the American and Oregon pharmaceutical associations.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille; daughters, Barbara A. Ehman of Lake Oswego and Patricia A. Brown of Port Coquitlam, B.C.; son, Gary L. Donneil of Springfield; sisters, Ruby Berry and Ethel Saling, both of Reno, Nev.; and eight grand-children.
The family suggests that remembrances be contributed to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.
