Carole Joan Hill Brooks, age 61, of Tazewell, was born August 14, 1942 and passed away June 25, 2004 at The University Of Tennessee Hospital in Knoxville.

December 15, 1958 she united in marriage to Kenneth Brooks and to this union two children were born. She was a member of the Bells campground Baptist Church in Powell. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed canning. She worked on the farm with her husband. She was Secretary and Treasurer of Caves Springs Cemetery. She loved good Gospel Music and going to singings. She especially liked spending time with and being around her grandchildren and riding four wheelers. She enjoyed helping others, loved her friends and had a great caring for others. She never met a strangers. She was preceded in death by her parents: Elmer and Johnnie Mae Hill; two sisters: Ola Jean Hill; 1 infant sister.

Survivors include her loving husband of 46 years, Kenneth Brooks of Tazewell, TN; son, Mark and wife, Pam Brooks of New Tazewell: daughter, Karen and husband, Patrick Grady of Powell; 3 grandchildren: Joshua Sneed, Christopher Brooks, and Madison Brooks; sister, Betty Dean Sutton and husband, Don of Powell; special friends: Eleanor Yoakum and friends of First Century Bank: a host of other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services were held 8 p.m. Sunday, June 27 at Claiborne Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Preston Smith and Rev. Rex Eledge officiating. Music by The Journeymakers and Brenda Reed Bolden. Graveside Services were held 11 a.m. Monday, June 28 at The Caves Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Shannon Knott, Roy Payne, Clyde Caylor, Mitchell Fergerson, Bruce Brooks, John Whitaker, Dewayne Fisher and Jim DeBusk. Honorary Pallbearers: Grandchildren: Joshua Sneed, Christopher Brooks and Mattison Brooks.
