She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Cecil Brockwell; parents, William and Essie (Caldwell) Swanger; five brothers and four sisters.
Mamie Leck is survived by seven stepchildren which she raised as her own, sons; Charles Brockwell and his wife Betty of Morristown, David Brockwell and his wife Mary Ellen of Newport, and Lloyd Brockwell and his wife Bobbie of Arden, NC; step daughters, Alma Gilland of Newport, Elizabeth White of Bybee, Mary Norton and her husband Bobby of Newport, and Irene Dockery of OH; sisters, Anna McNabb of Mt. Holly, NC and Francis Warner of Charlotte, NC; seventeen grandchildren, twenty eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, four special grandchildren she raised, Mary Ruth Sizemore, Miranda Quensberry, Jason Woods, and Sheila Gonzales.
She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews and a host of special friends including a special thanks to all the staff at Baptist Convalescent Center.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday June 2, 2005 at 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Caldwell officiating.
