"Edward J. Bacon, 79, 6616 N. Goodwine St., Ambia (Tab), died at 12:15 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 1998 in Regency Place, Lafayette. He had been in failing health for the past two years. Born in Monroe County, Ky., Aug. 22, 1918, he was the son of John O. and Nancy Alice Crumpton Bacon. He married Emma Elizabeth "Betty" Brown Sept. 12, 1945 in Covington, who survives.
He had lived most of his life in the Tab area. He formerly attended Hetrick Assembly of God Church and recently became a member of the Peoples Freewill Baptist Church of Chicago.
Survivors include: his wife; daughter, Linda (Orville) Prather, Lafayette; three grandchildren, Jeff Prather, Amy Gott and Melissa Logan; and two great-grandchildren, Briana Logan and Nicholis Prather. He was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.
Gravesite services will be 1 p.m. today (Tuesday) in Locust Grove Cemetery, near Tab, with Rod Andrews and Brother Danny Moore officiating. Maus Funeral Home, Attica, is in charge of arrangements.
