LAVERN HUCKABEE BAKER of Selmer, 83, died of heart failure March 17, 2002 at Hardin County Hospital in Savannah. Mrs. Baker was a homemaker. She attended Gravel Hill Baptist Church and was Secretary of Loyal Workers Sunday School Class. She was an avid quilter, church person, and word puzzle worker. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Kaye Thompson, and a brother, Rev. Foy Huckabee. She is survived by one son, Mr. Jimmy Baker of Selmer; and three daughters, Mrs. Sandra Rowsey of Ramer, Mrs. Carolyn Stanfill of Corinth, MS, and Mrs. Janis Phelps of Bartlett. She had seven grandchildren, twelve gr-grandchildren, and two gr-gr-grandchildren. Services were held at 1 p.m. on Tues., Mar. 19 at Shackelford Funeral Home in Selmer. Burial followed at Falcon Cemetery in Selmer.
