Matilda Ainsworth, resident of Eastland County, Texas, stated that she was the widow of Hiram G. Ainsworth, deceased, a Confederate soldier. In her application for his pension, she stated that she was 66 years of age and had lived near Ranger, Texas for 25 years. She was aged and feeble.

She married Hiram G. Ainsworth at Ellis County, Texas in 1857. He preceded her in death six years before she filed for the application. Her husband served in Capt. Carr Forrest's Company C, Burford's Regular 19th Texas Cavalry from 1961 till the war closed.

She had no land, no home and no personal property. She was indigent. Mrs. Ainsworth stated that she was born and raised in Texas. /s/ 10 August 1905.

The mortuary application for Mrs. Matilda Ainsworth states that she was living at Woodson, Texas in the home of a grandchild, Mrs. Bonnie Kerby at the time of her death. J.L. Castleberry, undertaker in Albany, Texas took care of the arrangements. Dr. C.A. Turner certified the death.
