Marie M. Fessenden Alfafara was born on December 9, 1923, in Bloomfield, Montana, to Ernest W. and Susie (Knels) Reuher. On October 12, 2007, she went home to be with her Lord. Marie became the President of Fessenden Technologies after the death of her husband, Glenn. For several years she owned a ceramic shop she ran out of her home. She became quite accomplished with her ceramic art and loved quilting and gardening. Marie was a poet and loved Bible scriptures. She was known for her warm hospitality. For many years she taught Sunday school, Children's Choir and Vacation Bible School at Galloway and Glendale Baptist Churches. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Glenn Fessenden; and a brother, Glenn Reuher. She is survived by her husband Gerald Alfafara Sr.; her son Royce Fessenden and wife, Pat, of Ozark, Missouri; daughters, Glenda Canfield of Lincoln, Nebraska, Claudia Snyder and husband, Paul, of Ozark, Missouri, Nadine George and husband, Jimmy, of Buffalo, Wyoming, and Marlys Sixsmith of Gilbert, Arizona. Also surviving her are two nieces, Marlene Taylor and Donna Scoggins as well as 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Services will be held Tuesday, October 16, 2007, at 2 p.m. in the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte, 4500 S. Lone Pine in Springfield, Missouri. Visitation will be this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. The burial will follow the service in Selmore Cemetery in Ozark. Memorial contributions may be made to the Victory Mission, 1610 N.
