Nancy was born on January 15, 1945 in Galesburg, IL to John Darauld Swinger and Gladys Irene Keifer Swinger.
She was a graduate of Galesburg High School, and was formerly employed at Pamida and Carhart in Illinois.
Nancy was a member of Open Bible Church in Galesburg and New Hope Fellowship in Greencastle. She and her husband Ralph were the former curators of Lake Story Campground.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Myrna Davis.
Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Ralph "Joe" Gilmore; three daughters, Lisa Wilhelm and husband Doug of Cornelius, NC, Jolene Watson and husband Pastor Donnie of Greencastle, Annette Hardyman and husband Dirk of Camargo, IL; a brother, Pastor Arlen Swinger and wife Margaret of Tallahassee, FL; a sister, Darla Swinger of Galesburg, IL; six grandchildren, Brandon Watson and wife Jess, Kyle Watson and wife Nicole, Amanda Downing and husband Joe, Andrew Tracy, Hannah Wilhelm and Caleb Hardyman; and five great-grandchildren, Brylynn Watson, Gavin Watson, Jaxon Watson, Emma Watson and Ryleigh Downing.
A Celebration of Nancy's life will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 11 A.M. at Open Bible Church, 521 West Losey St. in Galesburg, where the family will receive friends from 9 A.M. until time of services.
A Celebration of Nancy's life will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 2 P.M. at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 12 noon until time of services.
Inurnment will take place in the spring at Gerlaw Cemetery, Gerlaw, Illinois.
Nancy will be remembered for her love of the Lord and her family, especially the grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
