Allen Max Anthony, 72, passed away Friday, July 23, 2010 in Lubbock, Texas.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Bowie with Jerry Joplin officiating. Burial will follow at Vashti Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the White Family Funeral Home. Arrangements entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie.
Max was born November 15, 1937 in Bowie, Texas to Luke and Louise (Joplin) Anthony. He graduated from Bowie High School in 1956 and went on to play football at North Texas State University. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science degree. He married Jeanetta Sheppard on August 10, 1962 in Wichita Falls. He coached for 43 years and ended his coaching career with 14 years in Robert Lee, Texas and 17 in Idalou, Texas. If he wasn't coaching sports, he was watching them. Max enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Luke and Louise Anthony, and daughter, Dana Dear.
He is survived by his wife, Jen Anthony of Idalou; two sons, Quint Anthony and wife Debbie of Greenwood and Cody Anthony and wife Cayleigh of Paradise; grandchildren, Brody Anthony, Alyssa Anthony, Justin Dear, Hunter Anthony, Hadleigh Anthony, J'Nae Dear, and Hayden Anthony; brother, Kenneth Anthony and wife Billie of Henrietta; brother-in-law, Marc Dear of Wolfforth; uncle, Woodrow Anthony of Bowie; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
