Nickolena Brones, 71, of Vaughn, died Tuesday in a Tacoma hospital. She was born in Forest City, Ia., and taught school in Dodson, Mont., since she was 16. She held the position of dean of women at the state school for the blind in Montana 10 years prior to moving to the peninsula. She is survived by a sister, Mary L. Brones of Vaughn and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p. m. at the Vaughn Congretational church, the Rev. Guy Coen officiating. Burial will be at the Vaughn cemetery under the direction of the Perkins funeral home of Gig Harbor.
