J. Evans Abrams, 51, of 949 Ridge Road, Webster, draftsman at the Stromberg Carlson Corp. for 15 years, died unexpectedly yesterday (May 18, 1968) of a heart attack suffered while he was mowing his lawn.
Mr. Abrams was born in Rochester and was a graduate of West High School and the Rochester Institute of Technology.
He started as a draftsman in the engineering department of the Eastman Kodak Co. and went to Stromberg three years later. He retired from there in 1963 because of his health and was a guard for the Doyle Detective Agency for the last five years.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 113.

He leaves his mother, Mrs. Ida Abrams of Webster; three sisters, Mrs. Fred (Orrena) Weber of Miami, Florida, Mrs. George (Mabel) Dorfner, Webster and Mrs. Bernard (Marie) LaDue of Hilton; a brother, Wayne of Webster and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Tinklepaugh and Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster from 7-9 Sunday and 2-4 and 7-9 Monday where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m., the Rev. Franklin K. Blank officiating. Interment, Webster Rural Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Heart Fund.
