Birth: Jan. 16, 1858, USA
Death: Feb. 1, 1885

Nicholas "Wick" Copsey the son of Onias J. and Mary Jane Herndon Copsey was born on January 16, 1858 in Napa County (became Lake County in 1861), California and died February 1, 1885 in Lower Lake, Lake County, California. He married his cousin Luella Smith the daughter of Pleasant and Sophronia Copsey Smith abt. 1881. They had two sons; Alma Lee Copsey born September 8, 1882 who married Gertrude Ruby Nevins, and Byrd Burnel Copsey born February 1, 1885 who married Ethel Bell Parriott.
It is not known when Luella died or where she was buried, but Alma and Byrd were residing with their paternal grandmother, Mary Herndon Copsey in 1900.
Note: Family researchers indicate that Wick's remains were part of the group of six Copsey graves moved to the Lower Lake Cemetery in Lower Lake, Lake County, California (the location within the cemetery is unknown), however, his tombstone was not moved and is still in the Lower Lake Herndon-Copsey Pioneer Cemetery.
