Mr. Mickey Lynn Bates, Sr., age 51, of Calvin, La., passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, La. He was a member of Sanders Chapel United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father James Roy Bates.
He is survived by his mother Flora (Sanders) Bates of the Sanders Community;
His former wife and mother of his children, Jaquetta Bates of Calvin, La.;
Two Sons, Lynn Bates and wife Keri of Goldonna, La. Michael Bates of Calvin, La.
One Daughter, Crissy Jurek and husband Johnny of Houma, La.
Two Sisters, Melissa Kelly of Calvin, La. Michelle Perot of Calvin, La.
Two Brothers, Terry Bates of Calvin, La. Tommy Bates of Lafayette, La.

Services are under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield, La., where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Thursday, April 16, 2009 and from 8:00 AM to service time Friday, April 17, 2009. Funeral services will be held at Southern Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Friday, with Rev. Lamar Carpenter officiating. Interment will be at Sanders Chapel Cemetery in Calvin, La.
Timmy Bates, Bradley Bates, Colby Kelly, Dusty McNaughton, Zachary Perot, and Chris O'Bryan will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald O'Bryan, Michael McNaughton, Jerry Sanders, and James Clark.
