LEBANON -- Graveside rites for Arthur Autie "Ty' Aker were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Lebanon Cemetery with Lyndol Adams officiating.

Aker died May 9, 1998, in the Ardmore hospital at the age of 82. He was born may 17, 1915, at Wanette, to Charlie and Florence Riggs Aker.

He was a former city councilman in Oklahoma City and in Warr Acers and a former member of Westside Lions Club and Siloam Masonic Lodge. He was a Texaco Service Station operator in Oklahoma City before moving to Lebanon in 1971 and becoming service manager for McCulloh Oldsmobile/Cadallic. He help design and supervisor the Lebanon Fire Department and Senior Citizens Center buildings. He and Edna Faye Cornett were married Oct. 22, 1939, in Oklahoma City.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Tommy, Madill, and Joe, Houston; a sister, Hope Hardin, Houston; three brothers, Melvin, San Jose, Calif., Chuck, Chino, Calif., and Bobby, Milwaukee, Wis.; a grandson; and two great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by a brother, W.C.; and sister, Kathleen Pickens.
