Age 18 years enlisted October 8, 1862 at Cleveland Ohio as Private with Co. A. 2nd Ohio Cavalry mustered out at Benton Barracks Missouri September 11, 1865. He received gunshot wound of left forearm during the service no dates.

Resident of Soldiers Home Dayton Ohio, admitted August 1, 1907 age 62 married his spouse Mary Ann Abbey was next of kin residing San Antonio TX. He died while he was on furlough from the home at San Antonio TX.

HUSBAND COLD IN DEATH

San Antonio, Texas, Jan 20 - Placing her hand on the forehead of her husband to wake him at 9 o'clock this morning, Mrs Milton Abbey, 401 Soledad street, found him cold in death. Heart disease is believed to have been the cause and it is thought death occurred early in the night.

Mr. Abbey was 65 years old and had been a resident of San Antonio for about four year, coming here from St. Louis. He is survived by his widow and six children. Two sons reside in the north and the others, Mrs. E. Dory, Roger, Abbie and Mary are residents of San Antonio. the funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock from the home.
