Harvey Edward Ames

OGDEN – Harvey Edward Ames, 82, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2008 surrounded by family and friends at Ogden Regional Hospital. He was born June 23, 1926 in Tacoma, WA to Harvey Clinton and Margaret Rose Spadafore Ames. He married Kaye Morrison on July 20, 1974. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War and was very patriotic to his country. He was a member of VFW Post 1481 and American Legion Post 129. He was the Quartermaster of the VFW for several years.
Harvey retired from Wasatch Distributing. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; loved camping and being in the outdoors. He also loved to read and do crossword puzzles.
Survived by his wife of 34 years, Kaye Morrison Ames; brother Ronald F. Ames; sisters Linda Ames, Judith Ames all of Tacoma, WA; son Craig Ames of Pleasant View; daughter Sheryl Pederson of No. Ogden; 4 step-daughters and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; five nephews and one niece.
Preceded in death by his parents and one brother Richard (Dick) Ames.
Memorial services will be held at the VFW Post 1481, 907 West 12th St., Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. A viewing will be held Friday, Nov. 14th at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden from 6 to 8 p.m.
Interment, Myers Evergreen Memorial Park.
