She was born in Proctor, August 13, 1928, the daughter of Anthony and Sophie (Orzell) Stomper.
Surviving are her husband, Gerald L. Angier of Ira; one son, Dennis Angier and his wife, Debbie of Ira; a sister, Janet Ponto of Rutland; two granddaughters, Adrienne Tedesco and her husband, Jeff of Ira, and Danielle Dunbar and her husband, Christopher of Ira; two great-grandchildren, Jeffrey and Maison Tedesco.
Marie married Gerald L. Angier, December 27, 1954, at St. Stanislaus Church. Reception was held at the family farm in Ira, VT. Following the wedding, Marie and Gerald moved to GA, as this was where Gerald was stationed. Their son, Dennis was born while Gerald was stationed in GA. Marie stayed in contact with many of the friends they made while living in GA.
She was employed at Howe Scale, Norcross Eldridge Co. and F.W. Webb Co.
She was predeceased by a brother, Edward Stomper.
Marie was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, holding a weekend home game season pass for many years. She enjoyed picking berries in the summer and swimming in her pool with her grandchildren. Family BBQs during summer holidays were always enjoyed by family and friends at Marie and Gerald's home. Marie loved boating and fishing in the summer months and taught her grandchildren how to fish. She enjoyed hiking with Gerald and her grandchildren while picking wild berries.
Marie loved feeding birds and kept her Bird book next to her chair. Marie enjoyed helping Gerald split and deliver wood in their retirement. They also spent many of their retirement winters in their West Melbourne, FL, home. Family would often visit them in the winter months.
Holidays at Marie's home always included traditional Polish dishes. Marie made sure to pass these recipes down, so the tradition could be continued.
Marie enjoyed working on the family farm and selling produce from the farm stand they owned when they moved back from GA. She was happy to be able to surround herself with her family who still reside on the farm land. Marie was well loved by many of Gerald's siblings, as they took them in as her own after the passing of Gerald's mother.
Marie belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary and Saint Bridget's Parish.
Funeral services will be held at St. Bridget's Church in West Rutland at a later date, with burial to follow in St. Bridget's Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mullin-Clifford Funeral Home in West Rutland.
Contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association.
