Surviving are one son, Shawn Anderson; one daughter, Mary Jo Haskell; two grandchildren, Lauren and Mason Haskell; two stepchildren, Wayne Rickard and Vicky Hart; one brother, Jim Anderson; and two sisters, Carol Mae Courson and Mary Jo Eklund.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jack Ray Anderson and Robert Edward Pearson.

Ralph was a welder at Thrall Corp. in Clinton, IL.

He was a US Army veteran serving from 1969 to 1971 in Germany and Viet Nam, receiving the Purple Heart.

CUBA-Ralph Edward Anderson, 56, Cuba, passed away at 9:56 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, in OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

He was born Oct. 25, 1950, in Galesburg, the son of Orville George and Marion Edna (Stammer) Anderson.

He is survived by one son, Shawn Anderson, Galesburg; one daughter, Mary Jo Haskell, Scarborough, Maine; two grandchildren, Lauren and Mason Haskell, both of Scarborough, Maine; two stepchildren, Wayne Rickard, Metamora, and Vicky Hart, of Missouri; one brother, Jim Anderson, Abingdon; and two sisters, Carol Mae Courson, Avon, and Mary Jo Eklund, Gilson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jack Ray Anderson and Robert Edward Pearson.

Ralph was a welder at Thrall Corp. in Clinton. He was a member of the Cuba American Legion Post 533, Canton VFW Post 1984 and 40 & 8 Voiture 812. He was an Army veteran, serving from 1969 to 1971 in Germany and Vietnam, receiving the Purple Heart.

Services were held Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home, Farmington, with the Rev. Keith Jones officiating.

Burial was in Union Cemetery near Middlegrove, with military rites by Cuba American Legion Post 533.

Memorials may be made to the Cuba American Legion.
