WASHINGTON, IL - Doris Kay Agans, 52, of Washington died at 11:51 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, IL.
She was born on April 24, 1957, in Eureka to Edward Harold and Lillian Mae (Kempf) Koehl. She became the beloved wife of Kenneth L. Agans on May 5, 1979, underneath a blue sky, in a field sprinkled with dandelions. They were passionately married for 30 years.
She also is survived by her two daughters, Manirah and Erika Agans of Washington; two sisters, Norene (Howard) Pergament of Eugene, Ore., and Rita (Gary) Rose of Glenwood, Minn.; brother, Karl (Marilyn) Koehl of Hancock, Minn.; and other dear family members.
She was preceded in death by son, Chad Agans; her parents; and her sister, Shirley Koehl.
Doris loved seeking the Lord each morning before the day began. She was actively involved in home-schooling her two daughters, who remember spending countless hours laughing, crying and talking with her in the evenings. Reading, camping, gardening and having new adventures were a part of her abundant life. Each Christmas the house was filled with the aroma of her traditional filled noodles and fried chicken. She always enjoyed a competitive game of Wahoo!
Doris was a member of Riverside Community Church. She was committed to the prayer team and volunteered at Hope Store (Dream Center Peoria). Sharing in deep conversations with everyone throughout the day and encouraging others to find the fullness of God's destiny for their lives was essential to her.
