Joseph J. Ajster, 68, 2916 Sixth St., Peru, died at 12:05 p.m. Nov. 14, at St. Margaret's Hospital in Spring Valley where he had been a patient for 16 days.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle and at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in La Salle, with the Rev. Richard L. Barclift officiating. Burial will be at St. Vincent Cemetery with graveside services by the Peru Veterans Memorial Group.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today at the funeral home in La Salle with a Wake service at 6 p.m.

He was born in La Salle, Feb. 28, 1922, to Frank and Mary Brinovec Ajster. He retired four years ago as a cement finisher for the Ladzinski Conrete Finishing Co. He served with the Army in Europe during World War II.

He married Susan Housby, May 24, 1947. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church. He is survived by his wife, Susan; one son. Steven of Peru; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Peter (Mary) Castelli of La Salle, and Mrs. Rudy (Agnes) Pangrcic of La Salle; and two brothers, Frank and Rudy, both of Peru.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sons, Cpl. Joseph R. Ajster, killed in Vietnam, Oct. 5, 1968, and Rick J. Ajster, who died March 3,1981.
