Mrs. Frank (Irene) Ajster, 74, of 1012 Harrison St., Peru died at 12:15 a.m. July 17, 1997, at La Salle Healthcare Center, where she had been a patient for three weeks following a three-month illness.

Funeral services are at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru, and at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Peru. The Rev. Joseph Boyd, O.S.B., will officiate. Burial will be in St. Vincent's Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, with a rosary at 5:15 p.m. in the funeral home.

She was born March 30,1923, in Peru to Chester and Genevieve Niewinski. She married Frank J. Ajster on Nov. 7, 1942, in St. Valentine's Church, Peru.

Mrs. Ajster was a member of St. Joseph's Church.

Survivors include her husband, Frank of Peru; one granddaughter; two brothers, Joseph (Mary) Niewinski of La Moille and Frank (Rosie) Niewinski of Mark; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Mary Ann Walker in 1984 and a sister.
