Dorothy J. Bell 1925-2009
STREATOR — Dorothy Jean Bell, 84, of Streator, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 3, at St. Mary"s Hospital, Streator.
Private family funeral services will be Friday at St. Stephen"s Cemetery Chapel, Streator. Burial will be in St. Stephen"s Cemetery. Hagi Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bell was born Jan. 26, 1925, in Lowell, the daughter of Peter and Cecelia (Frings) Lenhausen. She married Charles E. Potter, who preceded her in death in October 1967. She later married Gene Bell, who survives.
Dorothy had been employed at Thatcher Glass Company in Streator for 40 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Stephen"s Church. She attended Leonore Catholic Grade School, Lombard High School and was a graduate of Streator Township High School, class of 1943.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Bell; one daughter, Judith (Donald) Traeger of Streator; one granddaughter, Nicole (Tim) Geary of Streator; one stepgrandson, Donald (Melinda) Traeger of Jacksonville, Fla.; one great-grandson, Tristen Geary; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Donald III Traeger.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Richard Lenhausen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pet Project in Grand Ridge or the donor's choice.
