Mr. Allen was born Feb. 15, 1923, in Long Point, to Claude and Oma (Wolff) Allen. He married Frances E. Dzuryo on June 4, 1946, at St. Stephen's Church. She died March 27, 2001.
He was born and raised in Long Point and attended Sreator High School.
He worked for Streator Brick Systems as a supervisor of production for 37 years. He was a member of St. Stephen's School and a member of the Msgr. George A. Dzuryo Knights of Columbus Council 790.
He is survived by a daughter, Debra (Edward) Stash of Ottawa; sons, Ronald (Jill) Allen of North Richland Hills, Texas, Brian Allen and Bruce Allen of Streator; grandchildren, Craig, Doug, David and Stephanie Allen, Jeff and Krista Vezain, and Audrina Clark; a sister, Jean (Tom) Kimes of Streator and a brother, Willis Allen of Ottawa; five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Helen Cassidy, Faye Cox and Mary Lou Gragson.
Pallbearers will be his children, Ron, Bruce and Brian Allen; grandchildren, David and Doug Allen and Jeff Vezain.
