Robert B. Alsup, of Batavia, died Sunday, September 20, 2008, at Delnor-Community Hospital, Geneva. He was a lifelong resident of the Geneva-Batavia area. He was born October 15, 1929. Bob graduated from Batavia High School. He met his childhood sweetheart, Patricia Dierking, in third grade. Bob and Pat were married October 1, 1949, at Geneva Lutheran Church in Geneva. Bob and Pat spent their time raising their two children and taking many family vacations throughout the United States. Bob coached Little League games and football games and did whatever needed to be done with his children. Bob was a very kind and outgoing person. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved joking around with people. Bob was a longtime member of Geneva Lutheran Church. He also was a member of the Moose Lodge in Batavia and the American Legion of Batavia. Bob is survived by his wonderful wife of 58 years, Patricia (Pat) Elaine Alsup of Batavia; his daughter, Tracey Elaine Alsup of St. Charles; and his granddaughter, Elizabeth Elaine Alsup of St. Charles. He was preceded in death by his son, John Max Alsup, in 1993, and his parents, Albert and Christy Alsup. Services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 2, at River Hills Memorial Park, Batavia.
