FREEPORT - Henry H. Antrim, 86, former president and a founder of the Freeport State bank, died Thursday morning after suffering a heart attack in a Forreston cafe.
Mr. Antrim went to Forreston on business with H. A. Sheetz, Freeport. He died before a doctor could be summoned. Ogle County Coroner Fred Horner, Rochelle, conducted an inquiry and reported death apparently was caused by a heart attack.
Mr. Antrim was one of the founders of the State bank, which opened here Aug. 1, 1891. He served as cashier for a number of years and later was named president to succeed D. C. Stover, the bank's first president. He retired as president 20 years ago, but continued as chairman of the board of directors. For the last several years he served only as a director.
He was a director of the Guyer and Calkins company, Freeport, and was a 50 year member of the Illinois Banker's association.
Mr. Antrim was born in Pennsylvania and came to Polo at the age of three years. He served as cashier in the Exchange National bank, Polo, before coming here in 1891. He married Elizabeth P. Buswell, Eagle Point, in Polo, Oct. 4, 1893.
Surviving besides the widow are three sons, Max, cashier at the State bank; Stanley and Joel, both of Missoula, Mont.; and a brother.

FREEPORT - Services for Henry H. Antrim, 86, a founder of the Freeport State bank, who died Thursday, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the residence at 905 W. Stephenson St. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. Arrangements were completed in the Walker mortuary.
