SPRINGFIELD - William Joseph Albach, 56, of Springfield died Friday, Oct. 15, 2004, at St. John's Hospice of melanoma.
He was born April 4, 1948, in Macon, Mo., the son of James Burlingame and Mary Lucille Albach. He married Barbara Heintz; she preceded him in death. He married Diana Lynne Lovell in 1973.
Mr. Albach graduated from Illinois College and received his master's degree from Sangamon State University. He had been a certified public accountant since 1974. He was a partner at Carter, Brown and Albach and also worked at First of America Bank and Bank One. At the time of his death he was vice-president and senior trust officer of USBank.
He was a member of AICPA and Illinois CPA Society, Illinois College Presidents Club, Sangamon Valley Estate Planning Council and Society of American Baseball Research. He was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors: wife, Diana; parents, James and Mary Lucille Albach of Macon, Mo.; two sisters, Donna Louise (husband, Rob) Chism of St. Louis and Susan Marie Hogan-Albach of Dallas; three brothers, James Riley (wife, Marilyn) Albach of Atlanta, David Stewart Albach of Macon, Mo., and Charles Richard Albach of St. Louis; and several nieces and nephews.
Private services were held with the Rev. Richard Chiola officiating. Burial: Oak Hill Cemetery.
Staab Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
