He was born Aug. 23, 1915 in Sailor Springs, IL, the son of Bary and Laura Rodgers Franklin. He married Wanda Harrison on June 11, 1936 in Olney and she survives.
Mr. Franklin was a farmer and oil producer. He was an elder in the Clay City Christian Church. He was a member of the Clay City Lion's Club, clay County Farm Bureau and Petroleum Club in Olney.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Jack and Roger Franklin; three brothers, Henry, Paul, and Woodrow Franklin; two sisters, Iona Osborne and Geneveive Occhi; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Services were held at the Chapel of Hosselton Bookhout and Engelmeier Funeral Home in Clay City.
Burial was in #4 Cemetery in Rural Clay City. (Sailor Springs area)
