JAMES W. BATES IS SUMMONED AT HIS HOME FRIDAY
Burial Will Be Sunday at Burritt
James W. Bates, 40, died Friday night at 10:40 o'clock at his home on Magnolia street after an illness of four days of pneumonia.
Brief funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the grave in Burritt Cemetery, the Rev. O. Garfield Beckstrand officiating.
Mr. Bates was born at Beloit, January 21, 1888. His marriage to Miss Myrtle Baker occurred in Rockford October 25, 1910. He was employed as a taxi driver by the Yellow Cab company for three years.
Besides the widow, Mr. Bates is survived by one daughter, Jeanette, 17; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Bates, 415 Kiswaukee street; two brothers, Ward D. Bates, Rockford, and Frank G. Bates, Chicago; and one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Blumenshine.
