Arlie Alexander, 49, of White Heath died February 3, 1942 in Kirby Hospital here. He had been ill for some time. Funeral services are being held February 5 at Mackey Funeral Home. Burial will be in Monticello Cemetery.

He was born in Centerville, May 29, 1892, s/o William and Ida Alexander. On September 4, 1917, he married Nellie Blacker of White Heath. Surviving are his widow; his mother; four children: Leslie, Fort Benning GA, who was home at the time of his death; and Carol, Mary and Arlene at home. Also surviving are four brothers: Charles, Dale, Fred and Harry, all farmers near White Heath; and four sisters: Mrs. Ruth McCall, Winchester VA; Mrs. Louise Clow of Weldon; Mrs. Ethel Cox of Monticello; and Mrs. Mary Sievers of White Heath.

During the World War, he served overseas for seven months and was one of the first three boys from Piatt County to be drafted for this service; since that time he has farmed north of White Heath.
