Richard B. Ambrose Prayers for Richard B. Ambrose, 72, of Wheeling, will be said at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20 at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 75 N. Buffalo Grove Road. Buffalo Grove. He was born April 4, 1923, in Chicago. Burial will be in Maryhill Cemetery, Niles. He died Saturday, Feb. 17 at Lutheran General Hospital. Mr. Ambrose was a technical illustrator for AT & T. He served in the Air Force during World War II, and played in the Air Force band that accompanied Bob Hope during some of his tours entertaining the troops in the Philippines. He was a member of the AT & T Pioneers. Survivors include his wife of almost 20 years Gladys M. (nee Frettinger); his daughters Carol and Janet Ambrose; his son Larry (Susan) Ambrose; four grandchildren; his brothers Edmund (Lorraine), and Roland (Jean) Ambrose; his sister Elvera (Arthur) Kawalkowski, and his sister-in-law Genevieve "Jennie" Ambrose. He was preceded in death by his brother Arthur Ambrozewski. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19 at the funeral home.
