HAVANA, IL - Marvin Adams, 81, of Matanza Beach died at 10:55 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 1, 1996, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.
Born Sept. 18, 1914, in Kentucky to James William and Bertha Ellen Byrd Adams, he married Iola Rose Sarver on Sept. 4, 1945, in Paris. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Harry (Sandy) Tarvin of Havana; two brothers, Corbert of Springfield and Richard of Saline, Mich.; two sisters, Marie Ridley and Lillian Love, both of Charleston; and one grandson. One brother and two sisters preceded him in death.
He owned and operated Discount Sales of Matanza Beach since 1962. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited.
He attended Grace Baptist Church in Havana.
Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
