Death Summons Mrs. C. Bartlett at Durand Home

Durand, Ill., Feb. 15 -- Mrs. Caroline Bartlett, 66, for twenty years an invalid died here at noon Monday, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Smith with whom she had lived for the past three years. Mrs. Bartlett was a widow, her husband, Eugene Bartlett having died November 16, 1913. For the past twelve years she had lived in Durand having come here in 1914 from Brodhead, Wis.
Mrs. Bartlett was formerly Miss Caroline Barker. She was born August 11, 1860 on a farm in Laona township. She was married to Mr. Bartlett August 5, 1894. The only child of the union, a daughter, died in infancy. The deceased spent most of her married life in Brodhead, Wis., until twelve years ago when she came here. Until 1923 she resided with her sister, Mrs. Effie Grant of Durand. She is survived by three other sisters who are: Mrs. Laura Whitney, Rockford; Mrs. Harold Whitney and Mrs. Mary Slocum of Durand. Sherman Barker, Rockford and George Barker, Durand are surviving brothers. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
