Mildred I. Ackerman, 82, of Rantoul died at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
She was born Sept. 22, 1928, near Rantoul, the daughter of Dirk J. and Grace Roelfs Ehmen. She married Elvin J. Ackerman on March 6, 1948 in Flatville. He survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Linda (Tom) Finger of Rantoul, Barbara Hall of Rantoul and Lois (Gary) Sjoken of Rantoul; four grandchildren, Lisa (Nathan) Feig of Rantoul, Jim Finger of Rantoul, Jessica (Christopher) Baker of Gifford and Tim Sjoken of Rantoul; two great-grandchildren, Eli Baker and Stephen Feig; one brother, Albert Ehmen of Rantoul; a stepsister, Mildred Frerichs of Flatville; a sister-in-law, Erna Ehmen of Rantoul and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Elmer Ehmen and Raymond Ehmen; a sister, Kathrine, in infancy and a stepbrother, Wilbur Franzen.
