Gilbert R. Benson, 70, Noble, died Tuesday afternoon Nov. 11, 1980 at Richland Memorial Hospital.
Services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Zirkle Funeral Home with Bro. Gene Everett presiding. Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. Thursday. Burial is in Hanna Cemetery northwest of Noble.
Mr. Benson was born in Jasper County Jan. 7, 1910 to Everett and Eliza (Fulk) Benson. He married June Martin Dec. 25, 1950 in Noble. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, James, Olney, and Kenneth, Flora; a step-son, Norman VanBlaricum, Olney; a daughter, Sherly Ann Benson, Olney; three brothers, Woodrow and Albert, both of Clay City, and Alva, Bradley; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Real, Noble, and Mrs. Beulah Taylor, Mt. Erie, four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was prededed in death by his parents, two brothers, John and Herbert, and an infant sister, Ruby.
