Former Troy resident Mrs. Viola L. Howard was pronounced dead at 1:10 p.m. on Oct. 16, 1985, at her home in the 800 block of Echo, Collinsville.
Age 94, she was born in Illinois on April 12, 1891, daughter of the late Willis and Maude Nelson Pritchett.
Her husband, Simon Howard, one daughter, one grandson and 11 brothers and sisters also preceded her in death.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at the Herbert A. Kassly Funeral Home. The Rev. Louis Mattea officiated, with burial in the Hagler Town Cemetery, Troy.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. William (Marvline) Hollis of Collinsville; one son, Clarence Howard of East St. Louis; four grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
