Everett Lee Alexander, 65 of Sanford, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006, at Brittany Manor.

The son of the late Earl and Mae (Smith) Alexander was born on Jan. 28, 1941, in Mancelona and was raised and educated in Sanford. He married the former Lorrine Hardy on Dec. 21, 1963, in Midland. Everett had worked for DeFoe Ship Builders as a journeyman welder. He then became a self employed truck driver as an independent broker; retiring in 2002. He was an avid Harley Davidson motorcyclist. He and Lorrine enjoyed traveling on their own Harleys. Everett enjoyed camping and fishing. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and family and was known for his sense of humor.

Everett is survived by his wife of nearly 43 years, Lorrine; his daughters, Laurie (Dale) Strickland of Alma and Loretta (Scott) Partee of Wheeler; five grandchildren, Everett, Nicole, Nichlas, Nathanel and Jakob; his brothers, James (June) Alexander of Sanford and Junior (Donna) Alexander of Arizona; his sisters, Pauline (Sam) Cleaver of Arkansas, Eddith (Howard) Krotzer of Sanford, Alice Hirt of Wheeler and Dorothy (Walt) Gay of Arizona.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, 2006, from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Interment will be in Midland Memorial Gardens .

Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Memorials may be offered to the Juvenile Diabetes Center in care of MidMichigan Medical Center .
