Floyd Allen Burch, 88, of Effingham, died at 6:45 p.m., Monday, June 15, 2009, at home.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Funkhouser Cemetery, rural Effingham, with Pastor Carroll W. Lewis officiating. Memorials may be made to Centenary United Methodist Church, Effingham, or to the donor's choice. Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Burch was born Aug. 31, 1920, in Effingham County, the son of Erastus and Zora (Kirby) Burch. He married Audrey Faey Hankins July 1, 1946 and she preceded him in death Aug. 25, 2001.

He was a retired auto parts salesman for H.L. Dust and Sons and a U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II. Mr. Burch was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, Effingham.

Survivors include his sons, Stephen (wife, Vickie) Burch and Craig Burch, both of Effingham; son-in-law, Larry Zeitler of Salem; brothers, Benton Burch of Effingham and Charles Burch of Marysville, Ohio; sister, Alene Jones of Salem; and granddaughters, Erin and Stacy Zeitler and Tracie Higgs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Carolyn Zeitler; and one sister.
