The census information shows that in 1860 & 1870 Samuel born in Ohio and living in Osage twp, LaSalle County, Illinois with a wife Sarah and 5 children. In 1880 Samuel was living in Hopewell twp, Marshall County, Illinois. In 1900 & 1910 the census shows a Samuel Porter living in Hudson twp, McLean County, Illinois.
Nothing is known about what happened to his family and where they are buried.
