Lloyd F. Jacobs, 88, of Sterling, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, at his home. He was a farmer all of his life, and owned and farmed the Hammelman Centennial Farm in rural Sterling.
Born March 3, 1922, he was the son of Frederick and Amelia (Zapf) Jacobs. On Jan. 15, 1956, he was united in marriage to Verna Hammelman in Sterling. He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sterling.
Survivors include his wife, Verna of Sterling; daughter, Vicki Jacobs of Sterling; and sister, Hazel (Richard) Livingston of Rock Falls.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Florence Schmitt; and two brothers, Charles and Donald Jacobs.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls, with the Rev. Leo Patterson officiating. Burial will be at East Genesee Cemetery, rural Sterling. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established.
