A son of John and Frances ( Clugston ) Black, he was born September 22, 1885, in Industry township, where he spent his entire life.
On January 16, 1907, he married Miss Mary Runkle, who survives.
To this union were born three sons, Scott Black, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Maurice Black of Industry, and Henry Black, who died in January, 1929.
Also surviving are his mother, who lives in Macomb, a brother, George Black of Macomb, and a sister, Mrs. June Prather of Gary, Indiana.
Another brother, Henry Black, died in 1919 and his father is also dead.
Mr. Black was a member of the Industry Masonic Lodge.s
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, May 24, at the Doddsville Methodist church, with the Rev. Jesse Tharp officiating.
Burial will be in Doddsville Cemetery.
The body was to be removed late today from the Clugston funeral home to his late home, where friends may call until the hour of services.
