Opal L. Swinson Aldridge, 70, of Bridgeport, died at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1997, at Lawrenceville Manor.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, with Bro. Roger Cazzell officiating. Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Cemetery in Richland County. Visitation will he today from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Aldridge was born March 3, 1926, in Olney, the daughter of Wilbur Leonard and Bertha (Schrader) Bare. She married Orville Swinson, and he preceded her in death. She then married Thurman Aldridge in 1982.
She was a seamstress at the garment factory in Olney for 27 years and was a member of Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witnesses in Bridgeport.
She is survived by her second husband; two sons, Lee and Robert Swinson, both of Olney; two step-sons, Ralph and Henry Aldridge, both of Bridgeport; two step-daughters, Betty Keasling, of Lawrenceville, and Billie King, of Seymour, Ind.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 17 step-grand-
children; 12 step-great-grandchildren one brother, Donald Bare, of Olney; and seven sisters, Mildred Scott, of Browns, Maxine Witte and Vivian Combs both of Dundas, Betty Swinson, of Parkersburg, Pat Ginder of Latham, Sue Harmon, of Olney, and Judy Novak, of Noble.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, a brother, Ronald "Pete" Bare, and a sister, Mary Boulb.
