Roy M. Alexander, 71, of Olney, died at 10:13 p.m., Sunday, July 3, 1994, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, at Zirkle Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Grimmett officiating. Burial will be in the Crest Haven Memorial Park with full military rites performed by the Olney Veterans Organization. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to the Health Care Foundation of South Eastern Illinois Hospice Fund.
Alexander was born June 7, 1923, in Crawford County, the son of Raleigh O. and Birdie (Moore) Alexander. He married Betty Michael Nov. 2, 1947, in Oblong.
He was the retired owner/operator of The Welcome Inn Restaurant in Olney. He was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church, American Legion Post #30, and VFW Post #4226.
He is survived by his wife, of Olney; a son, Dr. Jack Alexander, of Bradenton, Fla.; two daughters, Pamela of Elberfeld, Ind., and Jan Klier, of Newton; and grandchildren.
Alexander was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
