HAVANA, IL - Thelma L. Ebbert, 84, of Havana, IL, formerly of Rushville, died Friday, June 17, 2011 at 7:25 p.m. at Mason District Hospital in Havana, IL.
She was born on Friday, March 11, 1927 in Secor, IL, the daughter of the late Herman & Myrtle Allen Viebrock. She married Victor L. Ebbert on October 20, 1958 in Rushville, IL.
He survives along with (2) sons; Bill Ebbert & wife Judy of Pittsfield, IL, Jack Ebbert of Farmington, IL, (1) daughter; Vicki Goben & husband David of Havana, IL, (9) grandchildren, (6) great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by (1) brother; David Viebrock & (1) sister; Karen Viebrock.
Thelma was a waitress in Peoria and later worked with her husband Vic at their restaurant in Rushville, and then later in Havana. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and served Military families & disaster services for over 50 years. Thelma was a member of the Havana Central Christian Church and regularly attended the Senior Citizen Center where she enjoyed playing bingo. She was also a member & past president of the Schuyler American Legion Auxiliary Unit #4. She loved bowling and fishing.
Interment will be in Christian Neck Cemetery.
