Note: This most likely is also Catherine Duttenhafer
Catherine Boner married Michael Seck most likely in Germany. In 1853 Catherine, her husband and their three children; Lena, Frederick and Michael and Catherine's father sailed 48 days on the Mercy from Havre, France to New Orleans. Two days after they docked, Mr. Seck died of Cholera, and eight days later Catherine's father died of the same. Catherine then took her three children to Ottawa, Illinois and in a few years married Lawrence Duttenhoffer, a farmer and native of Germany. Catherine also had two older sons who served in the German army. Catherine's son Frederick Sect served in the defense of the Union during the Civil War.
