|Death: ||Jul., 1880|
Gustav was a son of William and Sarah Dunlap. He married Cleopatra Kuykendall. Cleopatra later remarried to Joseph Samuel King.
The exact burial plot for Gustav is unknown - we spent over two hours searching this cemetery for his marker - the burial records only indicate that he was indeed buried in the Charles Cemetery, but there is no hint as to exact location within the cemetery. Because Gustav was quite ill for some time, it is entirely possible his illness may have put a significant strain on the family finances. In 1880, 3 of their 4 young children had been sent away to live with relatives or family friends. We assume Gustav may have been buried in the Charles Cemetery because perhaps some other family members may have offered an extra burial plot? Perhaps someone in the Green, Boultinghouse or Driggers families may have included Gustav in their own family plot? And because there may have been a strain on the family finances, if there ever was an actual cemetery marker, it may very well have been of a less expensive quality which would have have eroded more quickly that most others?
