DIXON - Barbara L. Aurand, 95, of Dixon, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012. After farming with her husband, she was employed at the Sewing Factory in Oregon, and then at Kable Printing in Mount Morris.
She was born Sept. 13, 1916, in Polo, the daughter of Edward and Naomi (Bowers) Jones.
She married Edward C. Aurand on May 26, 1934, in Oregon. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1978. Barbara attended several churches in the Dixon area, and in Minnesota while living there.
Survivors include two sons, Spencer (Cloteel) Aurand and Kyle (Carolyn) Aurand, both of Dixon; two daughters, Gwenlyn (Marcus) Nettz of Dixon and Avolene (Larry) Stengel of Mount Morris; 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by seven brothers, George, Harold "Doc," Floyd, Melvin "Whitey," Russell, Earl "Squirrely," and Eddie Jones; and two sisters, Florence Schaffner and Naomi Long.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m., Saturday at Bethel Evangelical Congregational Church in Dixon, with the Rev. Bob Clardie, pastor of Lost lake Community Church in Dixon, officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.
A memorial fund has been established to Serenity Hospice Home in Oregon.
