Jessie Mae Angleton, 81, of Dixon, died Saturday, Jan. 1 2011, at Dixon Health-care and Rehabilitation Center. She worked at Freeman Shoe Factory, Admirals, and KSB Hospital as a housekeeping supervisor, before retiring in 1975.
Jessie was born June 29, 1929, in Elizabethtown, the daughter of Escol and Martha (Williams) McBee.
She married J.D. Angleton on June 29, 1971, in Dixon.
He preceded her in death on June 29, 1999. Jessie loved spending time with her family and playing bingo.
Survivors include two sons, William Holloman of Dixon and Roger Dale Ferrell of Columbus, Ohio; two daughters, Leah Rae Ferrell of Mount Morris and Darlene (Dennis) Howard of Dixon; one step-daughter, Karen Stevenson of Troy; one brother, George (Orpha) McBee of Elizabethtown; 14 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; and one grandson, Jason Ferrell.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon , with the Rev. Jack Smith officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Dixon. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
